Boxingtalk has learned from two independent sources that the next WBC heavyweight title fight will be between Oleg Maskaev and Sam Peter. It is believed that the WBC will allow a period of free negotiations between the respective promoters before setting a date for a purse bid. Peter defeated James Toney twice to become the manadatory contender for Maskaev's title, but the situation got complicated when former champion Vitali Klitschko tried to come put of retirement to fight Maskaev before Peter got his twice-earned opportunity.  (Posted- 11:45 AM)
