Maskaev-Klitschko might be in Moscow this June
Boxingtalk has been informed that representatvies of WBC heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev and soon-to-be unretired heavyweight Vitali Klitschko have verbally agreed to Sam Peter's terms to step aside and allow a Maskaev-Klitschko fight. Although Peter's co-promoter Dino Duva still has doubts that the papers will get signed, he has drafted an agreement and sent it off to Maskaev and Klitschko, giving them until next week to sign. If they do sign off, Peter would delay his right to challenge for the WBC title and allow Maskaev to take a more lucrative fight against Vitali Klitschko, who formerly held the same title but gave it up in 2005. Maskaev-Klitschko would reportedly take place in Moscow some time in June. Peter would then have the next shot at the winner, although who knows if Klitschko woud head back into retirement. posted: March 9 @ 7:15 pm
