Sam Peter Sykes out Taurus in two

In Reno, Nevada, heavyweight contender Sam Peter was too strong for Taurus Sykes. The unbeaten "Nigerian Nightmare" landed a series of clubbing rights, and with Sykes being held up by the ropes, a powerful left that put Sykes down for the count in the second round. Although this was a very solid win for Peter, who is now 24-0, the easy knockout means there are still questions that need to be answered before Peter can be declared the future of the heavyweight division. Still, Boxingtalk fully expects a slew of congratulatory press releases from Duva Boxing next week hailing Peter as the next great champion.  Quite simply, Sykes (not rated in Boxingtalk's top forty) was not enough of a true test. The Brooklynite is now 23-2-1. source: Showtime
