SOMEONE IS ABOUT TO GET SCHOOLED

VALLEY FIGHT CLUBS COME TOGETHER FOR CALIFORNIA AMATEUR SHOW

Press Release: A night of boxing action is coming to the Pierce College Basketball Gym in Woodland Hills, CA, on Friday, June 13, 2008.  Celt Boxing Club and USA Boxing will present Celt Fight Night.  USA Boxing has a rich tradition of grooming some of the most renowned athletes of the world has ever seen. In the main event, super heavyweight and Celt Boxing Club’s own Karim “The Dream” Williams will take on Panther Boxing Club’s Mike Lester in a three-round battle that will put a combined weight of over 600 pounds in the ring.  This bout could be a sign of things to come for the heavyweight division. 

The next boxing superstar may be making their appearance in the squared circle when Celt Boxing Club (Students of Crespi Carmelite High School) takes on gladiators from Panther Boxing Club(Students of Duke Ellington and Washington Prep High School), Grace Boxing Club (Students from Antelope Valley High School), Al & Day Boxing Club (Student from Lancaster High School, Riverside County Boxing Club (Student from Ellsinore High School), and Pacoima Boxing Club (Student from Pacoima High School).

Williams is a Crespi High football star, and will be moving from the gridiron where he is a defensive lineman, to the squared circle where he hopes to lay his opponent on his back. 

On the undercard, Randy “The Rhino” Reiner from the Celt Boxing Club and Chris Johnson from the Panther Boxing Club will square off in a middleweight duel, while the Celt’s Jimmy “Slim Jim” Barber and Grace’s Michael Reyes lace up the leather one more time against each other in a rematch to settle the score.

Also, on the show are twelve other bouts. This night of action begins at 6:00 p.m. with the former heavyweight champ James “Lights Out” Toney making a special appearance to support the fighters of tomorrow.
