Undefeated Russian lightweight Mikhail Grigoryan is targeting his tenth consecutive professional win when he faces Uganda's Henry Oteba in a ten rounder at an IBA show in Naberezhnye Chelny, Russia, on August 14th. Grigoryan, who has two knockouts among his nine victories, is confident that the support around him will drive him to another win. “I am sure we are going to have a very good fight, and I am confident that I will win because so many people are behind me, supporting me and helping me,” Grigoryan said. “Losing is not an option for me. What I have been through, many people could not even imagine.

 

To Oteba (10-1), Grigoryan said, “Henry, welcome to Russia! I hope you have prepared well for this fight because it is going to be the toughest fight of your life.”

 

Grigoryan enjoyed a successful amateur career, becoming a two-time European youth champion and three-time Russian youth champion, as well as earning multiple medals at international competitions. He last appeared in Serpukhov, Russia in April, where he defeated the experienced Filipino Jeo Santisima by unanimous decision.

 

Oteba now stands between the 22-year-old Russian and a tenth professional victory, with the Ugandan travelling to Naberezhnye Chelny for their IBF Youth title contest.

 

In the main event on that show, 2025 IBA amateur world champion Djambulat Bizhamov (5-0 including IBA pro bouts) faces unbeaten Serbian Vladimir Mironchikov, a world championships bronze medallist in a super middleweight contest. Also on the show, will be a battle of two undefeateds, Russia's Chingiz Natyrov and 2019 IBA amateur world champion Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov of Uzbekistan, while unbeaten Sergey Lubkovich takes on Khavasbek Asadulaev in a ten-round welterweight contest, also between a Russian and an Uzbek.
