Rubillar wins, eyes Viloria

Press Release: Boxingtalk's #11 junior flyweight, Juanito Rubillar, showed why he is a world-rated contender as he dominated veteran Acasio Simbajon in their ten-round fight Sunday night in the  main event of promoter Gabriel Elorde Jr.'s card at Paranaque City in The Philippines. The three judges awarded a lopsided unanimous decision with scores of 99-92 (twice) and 100-90 in favor of Rubillar. Rubillar, who previously had a technical draw and a victory against Simbajon, improved to 36-9-7 with 14 KOs. "I expected the fight would go this way because he's a veteran and knows to protect himself from a knockout punch," said Rubillar, who is in line to face Filipino and current WBC light flyweight king Brian Viloria. On the undercard  featherweights Rey Labao and Romeo Lucenara, super featherweight Benny Palen, and super bantamweigths Noel Basto, Hilsan Berba and Raymond Sermona all remained undefeated, while minimumweight Marlo Villamor and light flyweight RJ Iringan  improved their records with victories against separate foes, Jun Gumatay and Noah Isidro respectively.
