Round 1
The Cotto-Abdulaev fight starts with the fighters meeting close to the ropes as Abdulaev rushes Cotto. Cotto keeps his guard high and is jabbing and measuring shots. Abdulaev is coming forward throwing jabs then he follows with a straight right hand. Cotto moves back then moves forward with a hook to the body then head that just misses. Right hand lands for Abdulaev. Abdulaev backs Cotto against the ropes and lands a body shot. Cotto throws an uppercut and follows it with a 1-2. Cotto throws another uppercut then moves off the ropes. Cotto fights off the ropes with a multi punch combo.

Round 2
The second round starts with Cotto landing big shots that catch Abdulaev on the gloves and arms. Right hand lands for Cotto followed by a left hook. Cotto with a hook to the body then upstairs. 1-2 lands for Cotto followed by some hard leather from Abdulaev. Double jab while moving for Cotto. Abdulaev moves forward and lands some body shots and head shots while Cotto is against the ropes. Cotto backs Abdulaev off of him with hard body shots that move Abdulaev back to the Center of the ring. Back to the ropes again for Cotto and he lands an uppercut. Body then head by Cotto and Abdulaev lands a big hook upstairs they exchange body shots in the corner in the last 10 seconds of the round. Cotto 10 Abdulaev 9

Round 3
Round 3 starts with Abdulaev moving forward and trying to land a lead body shot. Cotto is peppering Abdulaev with shots in the middle of the ring. Abdulaev lands a big shot upstairs. Cotto fighting off the ropes and moves away. Abdulaev is teeing off with Cotto's back against the ropes. Cotto lands an uppercut off the ropes. Round 4
Round starts with Cotto throwing early leather. Abdulaev moves forward landing shots while Cotto is backing up to the ropes. Cotto begins to show some footwork getting on his toes. Middle of the ring and Cotto is throwing and landing big leather. Abdulaev comes forward again backing Cotto against the ropes where he applies more pressure and lands shots. Cotto fights out from the ropes only to be stalked back to the ropes. Cotto moves and lands a right hand to the body; 1-2 lands upstairs for Cotto. Round 5
The fifth stanza begins with Cotto moving and Abdulaev coming forward. Back to the ropes and Abdulaev lets his hands go against Cotto. Cotto lands a big shot upstairs coming off the ropes. Cotto is moving around the ring with Abdulaev prodding forward. Abdulaev gets Cotto against the ropes and lets loose. Cotto moves around the ring and begins to pick off jabs against Mohammed. Back to the ropes and 2 shots upstairs land for Mohammed. Cotto lands a hook to the body then upstairs in the middle of the ring. Round 6
Round 6 starts with Cotto meeting Abdulaev in the middle of the ring. Cotto is backed into the ropes and is hit with some shots by Abdulaev. Back to the ropes again and we have Abdulaev landing shots while Cotto’s back is against the ropes. Cotto lands an uppercut and is back to the ropes again where Abdulaev seems to get the better of the exchanges. Last 10 seconds and very little action.  Abdulaev 10 Cotto 9

Round 7
Round 7 starts and they meet in the center of the ring both behind good defense. Cotto moves out of the way of an attempt to back him into the ropes. Abdulaev lands some big shots upstairs while Cotto is backed up against the ropes. Last 10 seconds has Cotto moving around and lands a nice combination. Cotto 10 Abdulaev 9

Round 8
Round begins with Abdulaev missing a big right. Cotto begins to bounce and move on his feet. Throwing jabs and moving. Cotto is sticking and moving, sticking and moving. Abdulaev backs Cotto to the ropes and goes to work, while Cotto fights his way off the ropes. Nice hook to the body followed by a shot upstairs gets Cotto out of the ropes. Uppercut then hook lands for Cotto. Cotto is moving around the ring and lands a big combination. Abdulaev lands a shot after the ref breaks up a clinch Cotto 10 Abdulaev 9

Round 9
Round starts with Cotto being backed up into the ropes and Abdulaev looking desperate with his right eye completely shut! Cotto is moving and sticking shots at Abdulaev’s face with his eye being shut.  Fight is stopped as Abdulaev cannot see out of his right eye.
