IBF cruiserweight champion O'Neil Bell enters first rockin' a green and gold Boxingtalk shirt. Bell looks confident. WBA/WBC cruiserweight champion Jean-Marc Mormeck enters next wearing a sleeveless tuxedo. Mormeck looks focused. Jimmy Lennon Jr. let's us know Mormeck's new nickname..."THE MARKSMAN".

Round 1
Bell comes out dancing...fires a jab. Mormeck covers up. Bell lands a right hand over the top. Mormeck fires a left hook that's partially blocked. Bell lands a good uppercut as Mormeck ducks down. Hard left hook to the body lands for Mormeck. Bell staying busy on the inside. Lands a chopping left-right combo. Mormeck coming forward...working the body. Left-right by Bell is blocked. Mormeck smothers the punches on the inside. Mormeck fires some uppcercuts....lands a nice right hook. Both men trading on the inside. Good left hook to the body for Bell. Mormeck lands a right that staggers Bell backwards. BIG left-right combo snaps Bell's head back. Bell smiles and works his way out. Bell lets his hands go, but Mormeck lands a nice right to end the round. Round to Bell for being more active, but Mormeck is quickly turning up the pressure.

Round 2
Hard left jab lands for Mormeck. Bell fires the jab as Mormeck covers up. A left hand rakes Bell across the top of the head. Another BIG 1-2 lands for Mormeck. Ooooh.....Mormeck lands an uppercut that sends Bell's mouthpiece flying out of the ring. The ref takes a break in the action to put the mouthpiece back in. A WIDE left hook just misses for Mormeck. Bell staying active, but a lot of his punches are being smothered by Mormeck. Mormeck works the body on the inside. Bell lands a pitty-pat combo. They trade BIG right hands. Uppercut lands for Bell....Mormeck lands one of his own. Bell sticking and moving. Uppercut lands for Mormeck. They trade against the ropes. Mormeck covers up as Bell spins him and works off of the ropes. Round to Mormeck.

Round 3
Bell continues to work the jab. Right hand to the body lands for Bell. Mormeck covers up...fires a hook to the body that's partially blocked. They trade on the inside. Mormeck lands some rough body shots on the inside. They trade on the inside. Bell is landing more punches by staying active. Mormeck lands two more devatstating shots to the body, but Bell is firing back. Mormeck retreats and lays up against the ropes. Mormeck looks a little tired. Mormeck rakes Bell across the face on the inside. Nice uppercut by Mormeck has Bell retreating now. Mormeck ends the round impressively, but I don't think it was enough to steal it. Round to Bell.

Round 4
Bell fires a right to start the round, but it's blocked as Mormeck covers up. Mormeck lands a crushing left hook on the inside. Bell staying active....working the body. OOOOHHHHHH...Mormeck lands a HUGE right hand that snaps Bell's head back. A nice 5-punch combo thrown by Mormeck, but Bell takes it. Uppercut and a right hand landss for Mormeck. Bell firing back though. Good action. Bell's hands are down now....he might be getting winded. Left hook lands for Mormeck. Uppercut lands for Bell....and a left hook to the body has Bell crouching over. Left hook to the head lands for Mormeck, but Bell is game. Round to Mormeck for landing some devastating shots.

Round 5
Bell continues to pump the jab. Mormeck covers up and continues to come forward. 1-2 lands for Bell. Mormeck just follows him around. Uppercut lands for Mormeck and they clinch. Bell lands a low blow that forces Mormeck to take a knee. Mormeck refuses to take a break and they quickly get back to action. Right hand lands for Bell. Bell chooses to lean up against the ropes. Mormeck has trouble landing anything of significance. Round to Bell.

Bell coming forward now as Mormeck just covers up. They trade rights. Bell doing a good job of keeping the distance. Nice 1-2 to the body for Bell. Left hook lands for Mormeck. 1-2 to the body lands for Mormeck. Bell lands a 1-2 to the body of his own. Mormeck lands a nice right hand. Crushing 1-2 to the body lands for Mormeck. Mormeck lands a jab. Bell lands a 1-2. WHOA....big uppercut lands for Mormeck. Bell lands one of his own. Good round...good back and forth action. Round to Mormeck. Good fight so far.

Round 7
Both men back to working the body. Bell doing a lot more of the work while Mormeck is landing the more telling blows. Fatigue may be setting in for both men. Bell lands a HUGE right hand that has Mormeck hurt. Mormeck retreats and covers up. Bell landing a lot now. Mormeck looks exhuasted. Bell still coming forward. Mormeck's leg's look unsteady...like he could go down with one more big punch. Wooooo....Mormeck lands a big right hand, but Bell still throwing. Unbelievably, Mormeck is still standing. Mormeck waves Bell back into the fire as he leans against the ropes. Mormeck has a huge piece of tape hanging down form his gloves...the ref does nothing to stop the action. HUGE 1-2 lands for Mormeck...and Bell fires a great 4 punch combo to end the round. Wow. GREAT ROUND. Nice way to start the year off. Round to Bell. It was almost a 10-8 round, but my goodness, you gotta give Mormeck credit for withstanding that barrage.

Both men droppin' bombs now. Bell lands a right to the top of Mormeck's head. Mormeck retreats and covers up. 1-2 lands for Mormeck. Big left hook lands for Mormeck. Bell lands an uppercut. Mormeck lands a right to the body. Another right hand to the body drives Bell back. Right hand snaps Bell's head back. Bell back to sticking and moving. Lands a 1-2 as he retreats. Mormeck lands a right as Bell pulls back. Bell lands a right hand to the body to end the round. Round to Mormeck.

Bell lands a right to the body. They clinch. They trade hooks. Bell staying active. Big right hand lands for Mormeck. 3-punch combo to the body lands for Bell. They trade rights. Mormeck covers up against the ropes. Mormeck lands a right hand over the top. Both men taking a little bit of a break this round. Bell staying more active though. Right hand lands for Bell over the top. Uppercut lands for Mormeck, but his activity level has slowed a lot. Left jab for Mormeck lands at the bell to end the round. Round to Bell.

Bell comes forward and forces Mormeck back into his corner to start the round. Bell lands a right to the body. Mormeck just covers up. Mormeck lands some big shots on the inside. Bell lands a big right cross of his own. Left hook to the head lands for Mormeck. Bell pulls up his shorts and does a little dance before jumping in with a 1-2. Bell works the body. Right uppercut lands for Bell. Bell landing pretty much anything he wants to now. Mormeck looks gassed. Wooooooo.....two big right hands land for Bell. Mormeck is hurt. Bell comes in for the kill. Bell landing everything...left, right, left. He's DOWN. Mormeck CRUMBLES to the canvas. That's IT! IT'S OVER. Bell just pummeled him to the canvas.
