Roman defeats Rojas in battle of Mexican warriors

Miguel Román W12 Tomas Rojas ... A slow Saturday in boxing featured a battle between two aging but popular Mexican warriors. Fighting inhishome city of Juarez,  Miguel "Micky" Román defeated former world title holder Tomas Rojas by unanimous twelve-round decision. Rojas held the WBC title at 115 pounds as recently as 2011, but this bout was at 130 pounds, Roman's natural weight. Predictably, the bigger man won, although reports from Mexico say it was an exciting and competitive contest. Roman won by scores of 117-111 (twice) and 116-112. Roman, who lost a WBC title shot to Migue Berchelt last year, is now 62-13 while the 39 year-old Rojas has a lot of miles on the odometer at 51-18-1. source: soloboxeo.com
