Roman, Garcia & Valdez Headline In Juarez Tonight

Tonight in Juarez, Mexico Kirino Garcia, Mickey Roman and Adrian Valdez, all fresh off impressive wins this past October, will be back in action tonight in a card promoted promoter Oswaldo Kuchle of Promociones Del Pueblo. Garcia 36-25-2 will battle Derrick Whitley for the vacant NABO Light-Heavyweight title. Garcia defeated Whitley in October of 2003 by close split decision. Garcia was impressive stopping Arturo Rivera for the Mexican National title when Rivera quit in his corner in the eighth round.

Valdez will battle Hector Marquez; Marquez should be a tough test for Valdez, as he has been in the ring with fighters such as current world champions Juan Manuel Marquez and Jose Luis Castillo, as well as former NABA Featherweight champion Juan Carlos “Ranchero” Ramirez. Valdez destroyed former WBC featherweight champion Caesar Soto, knocking out Soto in the first round in their bout in October.

Also appearing on the card will be Mickey Roman, who is on of Mexico’s up and coming talents, Roman is 9-0 and defeated former WBC Youth and Mexican titlist David “TacoBayo” Murrillo on the Garcia/ Valdez undercard. Roman is taking on Famosito Gomez, Gomez has been battle tested and should be a stern test for Roman, Gomez has fought former world champions Paulie Ayala, Johnny Tapia, Danny and Jorge Julio to name a few. For those who have never been to Mexico for a fight card, your missing quite an evening, as the fights are usually starting at 9:30-10:00 and ending around 2-3 am, with each fight usually a war, if your ever in the neighborhood we recommend you check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
