A Ring of their Own,” the all women’s boxing series promoted by Rock & Sock Productions, returns to Harrah’s in Laughlin, Nevada, on October 8. This is AROTO’S second visit to Harrah’s, following a very successful show in March of this year. The main event will feature NABA light flyweight champion Wendy Rodriguez (15-2-3) from Los Angeles against Yvonne Caples (7-9-2) from Las Vegas. The bout is scheduled for eight rounds of action as these two fighters engage in an extremely competitive rematch. Caples is coming off a highly disputed World Title loss to Ria Ramnarine and is looking to upset Rodriguez. Rodriguez is on a fast track to a world title shot, and isn’t looking to be derailed.
In the co-main event, undefeated junior middleweight Laura Ramsey (4-0) of Tampa, Florida, seeks to extend her perfect record against former Laila Ali challenger Monica Nunez (9-4).
Undefeated Swedish super middleweight sensation Asa Sandell (3-0) travels to Nevada for the third time this year to take on Houston’s Vashon Living (0-1) in a four round fight.
Super middleweight Daria Hill (3-1) from Philadelphia returns to the ‘AROTO” series for a six-round battle with the always tough Shadina Pennybaker (8-4-1). Pennybaker is from Pittsburgh.
Rounding out the evening, Las Vegas’ own Elena “Baby Doll” Reid is scheduled for the fifth bout in a tuneup match prior to her highly anticipated rematch with Regina Halmich in Germany on December 10.
Rock & Sock has also announced the date for AROTO’s first pay for view show as November 18 in Edmonton, Canada, and will have more information available after Labor Day.
“A Ring of Their Own” is the only all women’s boxing series. It is broadcast on a delayed basis by satellite and cable networks and reaches over 30 million viewers.
