Super featherweight Robert Guerrero III (4-0, 2 KOs) is gearing up for his fifth fight of 2024 as he takes on Eduardo Tarango (0-1) of El Paso, Texas, in a four-round bout this Sunday, December 15th at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas. The teenage Guerrero is already carving out a legacy, following in the footsteps of his father, multiple-division champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero. Nicknamed “El Pistolero,” Guerrero IiI is looking forward to closing out a busy year with a victory against Tarango.
“This has been an incredible year for me,” said Guerrero III. “Fighting five times in 2024 has kept me sharp and helped me gain valuable experience. I’m excited to end the year strong and show everyone how much I’ve grown as a fighter. Training with my grandfather Ruben has been a blessing. He’s been in my corner since day one, and his experience is invaluable. He’s always pushing me to be better, and I’m confident our hard work will show in the ring on Sunday.”
Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero shared his thoughts on his son’s development, saying, “Robert is getting better every time he steps in the ring. Because he’s been staying busy, its making him a great prospect. It’s very important to fight regularly because you have to stay sharp in this game. Watching him grow into a young rising star is one of the greatest joys of my life. He’s carrying on the Guerrero name with pride, and I know he’ll make a big statement on Sunday.”
This will be the third fight consecutive fight taking place in Texas for Guerrero III, and he is happy to be making a name for himself in the Lone Star State. “Texas has been amazing for my career,” concluded Guerrero III. “The fans there are rowdy and bring a lot of energy when I fight, and I’m honored to be fighting in San Antonio once again. I want to make a name for myself here and become someone they can cheer for in the future. A win on Sunday will set the tone for 2025. I want to keep building my record and proving that I belong in this sport. Each fight is a stepping stone, and I’m determined to keep climbing the ranks.”
