Press Release: Former world light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson is ready to throw his name in the mix to face new WBC titlist Chad Dawson. “I congratulate Chad Dawson on his victory over Tomasz Adamek, and by the looks of things, he’s a real fighter who won’t duck any challenges,” said Johnson, the "Road Warrior", who owns a 44-11-2 (29 KOs) record that includes a knockout win over Roy Jones Jr. and victories over Antonio Tarver, Clinton Woods and Eric Harding. He won and lost the world championship in two close matches with Tarver.  “Of course, having said that, I expect that he would have no problem giving fight fans what they want by meeting me in the ring as soon as he’s ready to make his first title defense.” Johnson, a native of Jamaica who now makes his home in Florida, is 38 years young and like a fine wine, he is seemingly getting better with time.  He won two of his last three bouts, with the only loss coming via split decision to IBF titlist Clinton Woods in their third fight last September.
