Ricasa-White Rematch Tonight in Maryland

Local super featherweight sensation Mike “Little Rock” Ricasa and Dean “Pit Bull” White, square off again tonight at Martin’s West, in Woodlawn Maryland.  The bout is a rematch of their action packed brawl last October, which Ricasa won by a close majority decision.  An unlikely success story in the ring, the 40 year old Ricasa (6-1, 2 KOs) has emerged as one of the areas most exciting and popular fighters.  White (12-4, 6 KOs), fighting out of Reston, Virginia, has fought twice since losing the close decision to Ricasa, most recently scoring a split decision victory over Marty Robbins a month ago on the last Baltimore Pro Boxing card in Pikesville.  White’s other post-Ricasa fight was a six-round unanimous decision loss to undefeated prospect Oronde Dawley.

The Ricasa-White main event is scheduled for eight rounds, the first eight round fight of Ricasa’s career.  The fight is for the “East Coast Pro Championship.”

In the co-feature, undefeated Baltimore heavyweight Adam “Boom Boom” Bloom (2-0, 2 KOs) takes on rugged St. Petersburg, Florida journeyman Glen Williams (2-1-1, 2 KOs).  Bloom looks to continue his winning ways against Williams, who was last seen getting TKO’d by Mike Dietrich last summer at Martin’s West.  The Williams-Dietrich fight was Dietrich’s last before an armed assault put his promising career on hold.

In other action, Nick Collins (1-0, 1 KO), of Bel Air, Maryland, takes on Charles Mackorne in a super middleweight fight.  Collins is coming off a devastating first round knockout victory in his pro debut last month in Pikesville.  Another fighter who won his pro debut on that same Pikesville card, junior middleweight Jesse Nicklow of Severn, Maryland, takes on William Armstead (2-2, 1 KO).  Also on the card, light heavyweight Willie Williams takes on Jay Holland (1-11), of New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Baltimore Pro Boxing is promoted by former Maryland State Champion Jake “the Snake” Smith.  The matchmaker is Josh Hall.  For tickets or information call (410) 375-9175 or visit www.baltimoreboxing.com
