Ricardo Mayorga says Vargas is scared so he's ready to "knock Mosley out in four rounds or less!"

GL: What's the latest with your potential fight with Fernando Vargas? "Obviously Vargas is scared to fight. When he saw it was a reality that I was willing to fight him I have not heard back from them and I haven't been presented with a contract so I'm moving on because I don't think he really intended on fighting me."

GL: During our last interview you made it clear that you want to fight at 147 is that still the case?

Ricardo Mayorga: "Yes. Definitely."

GL: The biggest available name at 147 pounds is Shane Mosley, how do you feel about that fight? If not Mosley who else would you like to fight at 147?

RM: "Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto or Arturo Gatti. Those are the guys I want to fight the most at welterweight."

GL: Gatti is still looking for an opponent. Would you fight him in Atlantic City?

RM: "Of course I would, I'd fight him in his backyard. It didn't bother Mayweather or Baldomir much so why would it bother me?

GL: The fight with Mosley was supposed to happen four years ago, but the Spinks fight ruined those plans. Does that make Mosley the guy you want to fight the most?

RM: "I would rather fight Cotto because he has the belt...

GL: (Cutting in) Cotto is unavailable because he's fighting Zab Judah on June 9. Mosley and Gatti are still looking for their next opponents though.

RM: "Gatti would be great and Mosley would be great too, I knock both of them out. A fight with Gatti would be a massacre, but that would be the same result with anyone at 147 pounds. That's where I felt the strongest and I felt invincible and I will once again crown myself champion I promise you."

GL: Are you only interested in fighting at 147 against the big names or do you plan on campaigning there?

RM: "I want to win my title and I want to campaign there until I unify the four titles. I would fight someone like Shane Mosley in my next fight. I don't think he would last four rounds with me and knocking him out in four rounds or less would help me get the fight I really want, revenge with Oscar De La Hoya."

GL: So it's just a matter of Shane Mosley wanting to fight you then?

RM: "Yes, but not only Mosley Arturo Gatti also. I'd have fun knocking any one of them out."
