Ricardo Mayorga: Cotto, Mayweather, Forrest, whoever!

Having sent Vargas into retirment, El Matador eager to return to welterweight

GL: Congrats on your victory over Fernando Vargas, can you give us some thoughts on your performance? "I feel great. I'd like to thank God and my family for giving me all of the support and my professional team for always backing me. It was a tough fight, I won, I know I deserved this win in front of his hometown crowd and it's time to move on to bigger and better things."

GL: Do you think you should have won a unanimous decision?

Ricardo Mayorga: "Absolutely. I feel I should have won a unanimous decision, I felt I was the clear winner of this fight."

GL: Is it disturbing to you that without the two knockdowns the fight would have went in his favor?

RM: "It really doesn't bother me because I did what I had to do and I came out with my hands raised."

GL: Are you disappointed that you left it in the hands of the judges?

RM: "I wanted to demonstrate that if I couldn't knock him out I could win a decision against him. I think I showed a lot more in this fight than I have in many of my previous fights."

GL: Where do you from here? Back to welterweight?

RM: "From here I go to 147 and I want Cotto and Mayweather, that's who I want."

GL: If you can't get Cotto or Mayweather, then what?

RM: "With whoever means something at 147."

GL: Vernon Forrest is a champion at 154 pounds, he's made it clear to me that he wants to fight you again. Does a third fight with Forrest interest you?

RM: "Absolutely. If they want to offer me Cotto or Mayweather money definitelty, let's make it happen."

GL: Was there anything about Vargas that surprised you?

RM: "He's a strong puncher, he's a much stronger puncher than I thought he'd be."

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

RM: "I'd like to thank all of the fans who have always supported and backed me, especially this time around. I'm going to be back and I'm going to be even better next time around."
