Adamek retains WBC light heavy strap

Tomasz Adamek retained the WBC light heavyweight belt by stopping Thomas Ulrich in the sixth round in Ulrich's home country of Germany. Adamek, from Poland, dealt Ulrich just his second defeat in thirty fights. Adamek, 30-0, entered the Dusseldorf encounter rated #7 by Boxingtalk, while Ulrich was #8. On the undercard, heavyweight Juan Carlos Gomez (Boxingtalk #25) outpointed Oliver McCall while former super middleweight prospect Juergen Braehmer, 25-0, returned from three years in prison to knock out Roman Aramian in six rounds. source: Associated Press
