Report: Teraji moving up to flyweight

According to the WBC, Japan's Kenshiro “Amazing Boy” Teraji (23-1, 14 KO) who currently holds both the WBC and WBA light flyweight championships, will move up four pounds to the flyweight division, leaving the WBC light flyweight title vacant. Teraji, age 32, has had 15 title fights in his career. Teraji won the WBC light flyweight title by dethroning Ganigan López in May 2017. He then successfully made eight defenses of his crown. His only defeat ended his first reign, when he fell to his compatriot Masamichi Yabuki in 2021 via technical knockout in the tenth round, returning too soon from a bout with the coronavirus. Teraji avenged that loss by knocking out Masamichi in the third round in their rematch. He added the WBA title in 2022 when he stopped Hiroto Kyoguchi. His last defense came on January 23rd when he defeated Venezuela's Carlos Canizales by decision.
