According to the BBC, promoter Gary Shaw is currently engaged in negotiations for what truly would be a superfight between world lightweight champion Diego Corrales and world junior welterweight champion Ricky Hatton. The BBC report said the fight, if arranged, would take place in November in Wales, on the same show as a super middleweight unification bout between another Shaw client, Jeff Lacy and Joe Calzaghe. The article quoted Shaw as saying Corrales was willing to go to Wales to face Hatton, who hales from Manchester in neighboring England. Shaw said Showtime was involved in the discussuins. Showtime broadcasted both Corrales' victory over Jose Luis Castillo and Hatton's win over Kostya Tszyu. -Scott Shaffer
