Raven Simon suffers brain injury in sparring

According to a GoFundMe page, On Friday July 24th, British boxer Raven Simon (10-2) collapsed unexpectedly after a sparring session on Denmark. Emergency services were called immediately, and she was airlifted to an overseas hospital. She was diagnosed with a brain hematoma and cerebral edema. Raven underwent emergency surgery right away. The procedure successfully stemmed the bleeding and helped stabilize the swelling. She was kept in a medically induced coma but has now been taken of the sedatives and is currently still receiving treatment. She is awaiting medical supervised repatriation to a hospital in the UK where she her rehabilitation is expected to take some time.

Her promoter, Frank Warren, wrote: "Raven is fully in my thoughts this morning, I’m really hoping she can pull through and get home safely. Everyone at Queensberry is behind you Raven, we’re all hoping you can pull through this." Warren's Queensberry Promotions made a donation of about $27,000 to Simon's GoFundMe page.
