Press Release: Main Events’s third installment of its “Back to the Future” series in North Bergen, New Jersey’s Schuetzen Park, will host an eight-round bout between 2000 Dominican Olympian Jerson Ravelo and Ricardo Kellman. Ravelo is looking to improve his record to 17 wins and one loss with a current total of seven 1st round KOs, two of which were attained in his last two bouts in March and April of this year. “I know I have the skills to be a world champion; anyone that sees me fight can see that. I have a strong work ethic. I’m always at the gym and never take a day off,” proclaims Ravelo. As a child growing up in the Doña Ana sector of San Cristobal, Jerson Ravelo, dreamed about becoming a fighter. Reminiscing about his early days, Ravelo says, “My uncle used to put gloves on a lot of young kids in the neighborhood. We would spar and I would knock everyone out. I was the baddest kid on the block.” As an adult, and despite a few extended layoffs due to common boxing related injuries, Ravelo is focused on the sweet science and is striving for a title shot in the coming months.
