Raul Martinez and Alexis Camacho Score Knockouts

Is Martinez Ready for a Title Shot?

Raul Martinez KO1 Victor Proa: It was supposed to be the toughest test of his career, Raul “The Cobra” Martinez scored a devastating knockout over the previously unbeaten Victor Proa.  Martinez landed a barrage while Proa was defenseless against the ropes and the referee couldn’t have stopped the fight soon enough.  The 115-pound Martinez improves to 24-0 with 14 knockouts while Proa drops to 26-1-2 with 19 knockouts.  As an exciting fighter with a lot of heart, Martinez would be a worthy foe for either IBF/WBC/WBA champion Vic Darchinyan, WBO champion Fernando Montiel or anyone else the division for that matter.

Alexis Camacho TKO2 Edvan Barrios: Talented and exciting Alexis Camacho scored a huge technical knockout over Edvan Barrios, an opponent that he should have easily handled.  Camacho recently lost a unanimous decision to Terrance Cauthen but came roaring back last night in Philadelphia when he landed a huge right hand uppercut to the jaw of Barrios.  The fight was over before Barrios hit the canvas.  Although he showed heart in attempting to get up, the referee made the right call in waiving it off without counting to ten.  Camacho improves to 17-1 with 16 knockouts while Barrios drops to 9-6-1 with 7 knockouts.
