Lately, there have been some mismatches sanctioned as South African title bouts. However, Branco Sports Productions has re-signed current South African junior bantamweight champion Simon Ramoni and has now set the stage for one of the most talked about domestic title fights in recent months. In an excellent match-up, Ramoni will defend his title against another BSP charge, Khulile Makeba, 21-4-1. Ramoni is 25-7 againsta very high level of comepetition. Makeba is on the resurgance after a very convincing performance against Nkqubela Gwazela. The two will trade leather at the Nasrec Indoor Arena in Johannesburg on September 16, 2005. Featured on the undercard are Olympic middleweight Kgotso Motau (7-0 with 7 KO), former domestic super middleweight champion Soon Botes now campaigning as a light-heavyweight and heavyweight Jakes Els.
