Ramirez's cruiserweight title shot finally upon him

Notoriously inactive Arsen Goulamirian will defend his WBA cruiserweight belt against former super middleweight title holder Gilberto Ramírez (pictured) this Saturday at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. The Frenchman of Armenian origin will make his debut on American soil and is ready to show what he is capable of. Goulamirian has clogged up the cruiserweight division for years now, defending his title only one time since the onset of the coronavirus era in early 2020. The undefeated 36-year old, who has a long reign at 200 pounds, will make his fifth defense after almost two years of inactivity due to various problems. In his most recent fight, 2022, he defeated Aleksei Egorov in France with a fairly dominant unanimous decision. On the other side will be Ramírez, a well-known boxer in the world who will have a new opportunity for a world title. The Mexican lost a light heavyweight title bid against Dmitry Bivol in 2022 but has now risen to his third weight category.
Goulamirian has 27 wins, has not known defeat and has knocked out 19 rivals, while Ramírez has 45 wins, 1 loss and 30 knockouts.
