Press release: "Star of David" Dmitriy Salita, 24-0-0, of Brooklyn, N.Y. will be featured on Top Rank's big Hasim Rahman vs. James Toney World Heavyweight Championship fight card hosted by Caesars Atlantic City at the Boardwalk Hall on March 18. Salita, rated WBA #8 at super lightweight, last fought in Atlantic City when he defeated Rocky Martinez on May 22, 2004. Since, Salita has fought for promoter DiBella Entertainment in New York City. Salita is trained by Oscar Suarez and Jimmy O'Pharrow. Salita is scheduled for eight rounds on the big card.
Also appearing will be:
Noriko Kariya, the sister of NHLer Paul Kariya. Noriko, 22, is 3-0-0 as a super bantamweight and fights out of Toronto, Canada. She is scheduled for four rounds.
Chuck Mussachio, 26, is a wildly popular school-teacher from Wildwood, N.J. He has a record of 5-0-0 and his light-heavyweight bout is scheduled for four rounds.
Also boxing on the World Heavyweight Championship undercard will be Bobby Rooney, a 5-2-0 light-heavyweight from Bayonne, N.J. ; undefeated welterweight Vincent Arroyo, 3-0-0, of Amherst, N.Y. and young heavyweight Travis Kaufman, 1-0, of Reading, Pa.
Other bouts will be announced.
Rahman vs. Toney for the World Heavyweight Championship is promoted by Top Rank, Goossen-Tutor in association with Caesars Atlantic City. The World Heavyweight Championship will be televised on HBO.
