Quintana shows no fear in punishing Williams

Carlos Quintana W12 Paul Williams... Carlos Quintana turned Paul Williams from "the most feared man in boxng"into another ex-champion, capturing the WBO welterweight title from the previously unbeaten Williams  in Temecula, California.  Quintana won by scores of 116-112 (twice) and 115-113. A head shorter than the lanky Williams, Quintana's performance should serve as an instructional on how to beat a taller opponent. He now joins Miguel Cotto (WBA) and Kermit Cintron (IBF) as Puerto Ricans holding world title belts at 147 pounds. Quintana's only career loss is to Cotto. Of course, Floyd Mayweather is generally recognized as the welterweight world champion. source hbo boxing after dark
