Quick Q&A: Joe DeGuardia!

MSG Network airing live boxing for the first time in over 20 years tonight at 8PM!

GL: Star Boxing has invaded Saratoga this week, what can you tell us about tonight's show? "It's a big night of boxing, it's all heavyweights. Vinny Maddalone, the most exciting heavyweight in the business will face Jameel Barnes. He'll put his face out there and get bloody, get cut and give the fans an exciting war as he wins the fight. I'm looking foward to that one and I'm expecting nothing but excitement. In the co-feature, Shannon Miller, who fought that War with Maddalone on ESPN will be fighting in the co-feature. We've got a sell out crowd in Saratoga and they're coming to see Shannon Miller, the local favorite, and he'll go against Malachy Farrell. With a win here he becomes the dark horse of the heavyweight division. What's very important to me is that this is the first time in over 20 years that MSG Network has aired live boxing. I'm really proud that we're able to bring the MSG Network back into the fold as a real outlet for live boxing. So tune in to MSG at 8PM tonight for some great boxing."

GL: If victorious, where does Maddalone go from here?

JD: "We've got a few big fights lined up for him but first he's got to get by this one. I don't want to count the chickens before they hatch. Two times he came up short and we had big, big ones lined up for him next. Let's see if he gets this one out of the way so we can turn him into the Arturo Gatti of the heavyweight division."

Stay tuned for more from Joe DeGuardia discussing Antonio Tarver's future plans and much more.
