Prosecutor wants Tyson to serve time

We've seen this before, a prosecutor who wants to make a name for himself by sending Mike Tyson to prison. According to the Associated Press, the Maricopa (Arizona) County Attorney, whose name will not be mentioned by Boxingtalk so as not to give him the publicity he is seeking, said he will try to jail Tyson for drug possession and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of drugs. If convicted of all charges, the former heavyweight champion could be sentenced to between 2 and 7 1/2 years. "He has run out of second chances, at least in my book," the prosecutor said. The charges stem from last week's arrest in Arizona, where after being pulled over, Tyson was allegedly found with two bags of cocaine in his back pocket and another in a package of cigarettes in his car, according to court records. In the 1990s, Tyson served over three years in jail on rape charges when an Indiana prosecutor and judge didn't tell the jury that alleged victim Desiree Washington had previously made false rape claims.
