Wednesday Night Fights returns to ProBox TV today (Sept. 11th) as Joeshon James steps up to face Lester Martinez in a battle of unbeaten super middleweights. Martinez-James will headline a five-fight card featuring six undefeated fighters at the ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida. Martinez (18-0, 15 KOs), a 28-year old from Guatemala City, is now a legitimate contender at 168 pounds. He will be making his second appearance in Plant City, having knocked out Lucas de Abreu there inside four rounds in July 2023. Most recently, Martinez won a wide ten-round decision over Carlos Gongora in June in Washington, D.C.
James (9-0-2, 5 KOs), age 26 and from Sacramento, California, will be fighting in his first ten-round bout and is the less experienced fighter. But he most recently outpointed Vaughn Alexander in an eight-rounder in February, which followed a string of difficult tests against four consecutive undefeated opponents.
In the co-feature, Vladimir Hernandez (15-6, 7 KOs) will take on hard-hitting Raul Garcia (13-1-1, 11 KOs) in a junior middleweight ten-rounder. Additionally, Jaycob Gomez (10-0-1, 6 KOs) will face Jerry Perez (14-4-1, 11 KOs) at lightweight, and Yoel Angeloni (3-0, 2 KOs) will take on Juan Carlos Campos (3-0, 3 KOs) at welterweight.
Guests at the live event will see Yojanler Martinez (4-0, 2 KOs) square off against Franyerson Puerta (5-4, 5 KOs) in a middleweight undercard matchup.
