PRESS RELEASE: Prize Fight Boxing returns to Tunica, MS on October 21st as it unveils the latest edition of “Fights At The Fitz” live from The Fitz Hotel & Casino. The exciting 5 bout card will feature some of the bright stars in the Prize Fight Boxing stable. In the main event, Super Middleweight contender Rowland Bryant 13-0 (9 KO’s) will square off with Billy Thompson 8-6 (3 KO’s) in a 6 round match. In his last fight, Bryant stopped Rico Cason in the first round with a punishing attack to the body and head that sent Cason to the canvas for the count. The feature bout of the evening will be a rematch of an exciting match that took place on July 8th at The Fitz between Tunica’s own Jose “Pepe” Rubio and Rudy Paz from San Antonio, TX. In their first fight, Rubio and Paz exchanged plenty of leather as the fight was closely contested the whole way. Throughout the early rounds of the fight, it appeared that Rubio was winning the fight on the score cards. However, as the ten second tap sounded in the fourth round, Paz attacked Rubio very aggressively with a left hook to the chin of Rubio that sent him crashing onto the ring mat. Referee Randy Phillips began his count and Rubio tried to get to his feet at the six count. Unfortunately for Rubio, he was clearly out on his feet and stumbled across the ring as Phillips wrapped him in his arms waving an end to the bout. The official time of the stoppage was 2:59 of the fourth and final round. The rematch is sure to pick up where the first bout left off.
