Powell wants to "give Vargas the business!"

By G. Leon

Boxingtalk spoke with undefeated junior middleweight prospect Sechew "The Iron Horse" Powell moments after his scintillating :22 second knockout of previously undefeated Corneilus Bundrage. "I came out tonight to make a statement. I wanted to showcase more of my skills and I felt like I could go a strong twelve rounds, but I'll take it," stated Powell, who is looking to get right back in the ring since "this wasn't really no work."

Regarding his next move Powell said, "I need to stay busy, I want to get right back to the gym and get ready for my next opponent." Powell acknowledges the double knockdown, "We just caught each other. I hit him with a solid shot and I was a little off balance, he threw a punch back and I went down too. But it didn't take long for people to figure out who got the worst of it."

Powell is ultimately gunning for former two time junior middleweight champ, "Ferocious" Fernando Vargas. "People might think I'm going over my head, but I could beat Fernando Vargas right now. I'm going to keep on beating whoever they put in front of me, wish Vargas nothing but the best until we meet." How would that fight play out? "I would give him the business and get him out of there quicker than Trinidad and De La Hoya did."  [Editor's note: If you missed Powell's spectacular knockout, it will be replayed Monday at 8 PM on Showtime Extreme]
