Powell dominates Ter-Meliksetian

By Wyatt Johnston

Sechew Powell W10 Archak Ter-Meliksetian... In a strong performance that was unfortunately overshadowed by the injury suffered by Jaidon Codrington in the preceding bout, Sechew Powell put on a very strong ten-round performance against his toughest opponent to date, Archak Ter-Meliksetian.  Powell won the junior middleweight bout in  Miami, Oklahoma by using brilliant combinations comprised of his jab, straight lefts and right hooks.  He threw lead left hands. He also moved around the ring well. At times, the Brooklyn native even layed on the ropes and countered Ter-Meliksetian's heavy shots by landing to the head and body.  The official scorecards read 97-93 (twice) and 100-90 for Powell, who imrpoves to 18-0 with 11 KOs. Ter-Meliksetian falls to 15-2 with 12KOs. source: ShoBox on Showtime
