GL: Congrats on your first round knockout over Shannon Miller. Can you give us some thoughts on your performance? "I got to tell you it was a great performance. I finally feel back to my old self. From now on people can get ready to see the old Joe Mesi."

GL: Where does the old Joe Mesi go from here?

Joe Mesi: "It's too soon to tell. We obviously want to fight before the Holidays, before Christmas. I'm planning on a December fight. The where, the when and who I don't know yet, but it'll be another step up in competition and you'll know when we know."

GL: As it relates to getting reinstated by the major commissions, are you hoping the first round stoppage over Miller expedites that?

JM: "Every win helps a little bit. We are in the process of applying in a couple of major States. I can't say yet, but you will know soon. There's going to be some announcements real soon."

GL: Were you surprised you got rid of him so quickly?

JM: "To tell you the truth, yes. Some people considered him a step up, but I never thought he was in my class as far as skill. He's always been very durable and he fights with a lot of heart. He's a kid doens't quit and I put him down and I put him out."

GL: I'm sure you're aware Holyfield lost to Ibragimov. Do you think he should stop fighting, if you don't would you like to fight him?

JM: "I would fight Holyfield. Of course, everything would have to be perfect. Should he retire? I'd probably retire if I were him, but I can't tell him what he should do or shouldn't do."

GL: When will there be more specifics as it relates to your December return?

JM: "Before the end of the month we'll have some sort of announcement and of course we'll be letting you know."

GL: What did you think of the Peter-McCline?

JM: "I think Sam Peter was exposed a little bit. Sam Peter is a big strong guy, other than that he didn't show me anything and I'd love to get in there with Sam Peter. Peter is very dangerous and he's strong, but other than that he doesn't offer much."

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

JM: "I want to thank everyone for their continued support. It's been a long time coming, but I feel like we're back."
