Post-Fight Interview: Anthony Hanshaw

Boxingtalk caught up with Anthony Hanshaw minutes after his 12th round UD loss to Roy Jones Jr.  Hanshaw talks about his performance against Jones, and he also touches on what may lay ahead for him in the near future.

BT - Talk about your performance against Roy Jones Jr.

AH - Well you know he's a legend in there man, I just got together with Floyd Mayweather Sr like 4 or 5 weeks ago.  I got knocked down, but I got right back up, I am a warrior.   I am ready to get right back in there and do my thing.

BT - Did you Roy do anything in the ring that you were not ready for?  Was he faster or slower than you anticipated?

AH - Well he was fast, I mean he's a legend, pound for pound one of the best fighters out there.  I showed the world my talent, I showed the world that I am a warrior.

BT - He caught you when you had him on the ropes, but was that your gameplan? To try to get him on the ropes and tire him out?

AH - I was trying to back him up, I tried to back him up the whole fight.  You can see if you watched the fight, I backed him up using my jab.

BT - I don't think your stock goes down at all with the effort you gave, what are your thoughts on that?

AH - No man, my stock went way up.  I am moving back down to Super Middleweight where I belong.  Whoever wants anything down there, Calzaghe, Taylor, Pavlik all those guys that watched this fight know that I am a warrior.

BT - When do you want to fight again?

AH - I will take a few weeks off, and I'll get back into the gym.

BT - Closing thoughts?

AH - I want to tell my family hello, and that I love you.
