WBC flyweight champion Pongsaklek Wongjongkam is aiming to establish a record for most defenses of a world title in the 112-pound category. According to the Bangkom Post, the record was established by Miguel Canto's 14 defenses from 1975-1979. Pongsaklek, rated #1 in the world by Boxingtalk, has piled up 12 defenses since he won the title from Malcolm Tunacao of the Philippines on March 2, 2001.
