After returning from Japan, Thai promoter, Niwat Laosuwannawat, notified reporters that Phoonsawat Krathingdaeng Gym (Vor Singhsanei) will be making a WBA bantamweight mandatory fight in Thailand around December 2004. Everyone was confused after the WBA ordered the title eliminator bout between Wladimir Sidorenko of Ukrain and former 3 division world champion Leo Gamez, despite the fact that Phoonsawat, who is a current PABA champion, is ranked in the No. 1 spot. After Sidorenko beat Gamez, he was authorized to challenge for the title within 120 days. Therefore, Phoonsawat has time to make a mandatory fight with WBA bantamweight boss, Julio Zarate, before the Ukrainian, Sidorenko. The date will be comfirmed later.
