Petkovics Injured, Arslan Wins

Firat Arslan won the vacant WBO I/C cruiser title when co-challenger Aleksander Petkovics couldn´t come out for the seventh due to a shoulder injury. Petkovics dominated his opponent in the first few rounds but it was clear in the sixth that he had big problems and could barely use his left.

It was a bad break for the Universum fighter, who seemed to be on his way to a victory and must have won five of the six completed rounds - if not all six.

Arslan, badly swollen around the right eye, must now get ready for his February 12 defence of the EU title against Rudiger May - or be stripped of that belt.
