Peter Buckley gets 248th pro loss

Groenwald posts comeback win on same show

Press Release: Danish super featherweight prospect Kim “Golden Boy” Poulsen added another victory to his resume on Wednesday in London when he decisively outscored Peter “The Professor” Buckley over six rounds. Charitably listed on press releases as a "veteran of 290 pro fights", Buckley has a pro record of 31-248-11! Poulsen knocked the durable Buckley down in the second, something several future world champions failed to accomplish, but couldn’t finish him, and had to settle for a 60-53 verdict from scoring referee Mark Green. Poulsen is now 6-1, with the sole blemish being a disputed decision against French hard-man Tony Jourda in the Danes fourth bout.  Also on the show promoted by Mickey Helliet and the Mayfair Sporting Club, London-based South African Ruben Groenewald (20-5-3) returned to action after two years of inactivity with a decision over Mark Nilsen (6-2) at light heavyweight, welterweight Darren Hamilton (4-0) stayed undefeated with a points-win over Byron Vince (1-1), and middleweight Wayne Alwan (3-0) did likewise against Mark Phillips (9-49).
