Delfine Persoon W10 Bo-mire Shin... Former WBC lightweight champion Delfine Persoon, now campaigning as a junior lightweight, scored a decision win over South Korea’s Bo-mire Shin at Sportcentrum Van Steenland in Torhout, Belgium. The match started very even, with Persoon utilizing her strong jab that has brought constant success throughout her successful career. Persoon, age 38, knew how to take full advantage of her height and reach, keeping Shin away for much of the fight. However, the Korean fighter showed a great heart and will to be the aggressor, constantly seeking to connect. The judges’ scorecards were: 96-94 for Shin, 97-93 and 98-92 for Persoon, who improves her record to 48-3 with 19 knockouts. The win extended Persoon’s current five-fight unbeaten streak following a pair of losses to undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor. Shin is now 15-2-3 with both of her career losses coming on the road; her ther loss was a six-round decision to Thi Linh Tran in February 2020 in Bavet, Cambodia.
