Peralta to face Safar on next week's Golden Boy show

On May 22, in the 200-pound division, two-time Olympian Yamil Peralta will battle Robin Sirwan Safar at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The bout will be on a show organized by Golden Boy Promotions. The clash will be one of the highlights of an evening that will be broadcast worldwide via the DAZN platform. The night’s main event will feature an IBF middleweight title eliminator between the undefeated Amari Jones and former champion Vincenzo Gualtieri of Germany. Peralta (18-1-1), one of the most formidable figures in contemporary Argentine pugilism, views this commitment as the definitive step toward securing a shot at the WBC version of the world title, currently held by Noel Mikaelian.  In the opposite corner stands the dangerous Las Vegas-based Swede, Safar (19-0, 13 KOs). Safar arrives with an immaculate record and notable punching power, representing a true litmus test for the Buenos Aires native in his quest for cruiserweight supremacy.

“My entire team and I have been preparing diligently for a challenge of this caliber. I have the necessary experience to secure the victory and launch my career onto the most important stage,” stated Peralta, confident in his ability to return to Argentina with the belt still in his possession.

For his part, Safar acknowledged the Argentine’s quality but made his ambitions clear: “Peralta, ranked number 2 by the WBC, is the perfect opponent. My goal is to become a world champion this year, and I am going to make my potential clear to all the champions with this performance.”
