Pelullo speaks on Hatton win, Freitas-Casamayor rematch and more!

GL: Can you give us some thoughts on Ricky Hatton's victory over Juan Urango? "I thought he did terrific in the fight. As you can see by the judges cards he won every round except for one. I was telling his father Ray before the fight that in some ways he's more dangerous than Jose Luis Castillo. You could hit this guy with a sledgehammer and he wasn't going anywhere. His head went right to his shoulders, there was no neck so he's a very strong."

GL: Does Urango hurting Hatton to the body concern you going into a fight with Castillo, who is known as a solid body puncher?

Artie Pelullo: "No. Urango is a strong, tough guy. Jose Luis Castillo is a great fighter and when you're fighting on this level everyone gives and takes. I think Ricky got hurt a little bit, but he shook it off and won every other round."

GL: Where can we expect the fight to take place?

AP: "The date will be June 2 or JUne 23, we haven't locked it in yet, but the fight will probably take place in Las Vegas. We're working out those details as we speak right now."

GL: Based on what you saw from Ricky against Urango are you confident he beats Castillo?

AP: "I was confident Ricky beats Castillo before the fight and even more so now because Urango is naturally bigger and stronger than Castillo. I think Urango is a very big junior welterweight."

GL: Tell us about the Freitas-Casamayor situation, is there any update?

AP: "No, the update is that's the fight we've agreed to make so it's going to happen. I'm going to New York this week to convince HBO to do the fight and it's not going to take much convincing because I know they like the fight."

GL: What date will you be requesting?

AP: "There's no particular date we're looking at but I think sometime in April would be a safe bet."

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

AP: "I think Rodney Jones is going to shock Cory Spinks. I think Spinks is taking him lightly. Rodney is a tough, awkward guy to fight and he's been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and he's going to make the most of it on February 3. I want to thank everyone for coming out to the fight or watching on TV, and continue to call my man Greg on Boxingtalk."
