Every morning on his way to work, Jaydell Pazmino drives past Encore Boston Harbor in Everett Massachusetts. The 25 year-old electrician used to imagine what it would be like to headline there. On Saturday, November 7th, he will find out. Pazmino (10-0, 8 KOs) takes on England’s Graham "Tyson" Tirrell (10-3, 2 KOs) in the six-round welterweight main event on a show presented by CES Boxing and Granite Chin Promotions. Tickets are available at CESFights.com. "This will be my third fight there, but this time I’m in the main event," said Pazmino from his training camp at Thrive Boxing in Londonberry, New Hampshire. "I’m so excited."
In each of his first two appearances at the venue, the Sandown, NH resident gave fans a look at a different side of his game. Last November, Pazmino knocked out veteran Daniel Sostre with a left hook to the body in the second round. This past August, Pazmino outboxed slick Alfred Raymond over six rounds to win a unanimous decision. "I’m an aggressive fighter. I can fight inside or outside, box or brawl," says a confident Pazmino. "I’m known for my aggressiveness, but in the Raymond fight I wanted to show that I can really box."
"That’s the kind of progress you want to see in a young fighter," observed CES Boxing Founder Jimmy Burchfield Sr. "Jaydell gave the fans at Encore a big knockout against Sostre, then came back and showed against Raymond that he could control a fight for six rounds. He's earned this chance to headline, and I’m looking forward to seeing him take that next step in front of his fans."
Signed by CES Boxing in 2025, Pazmino has registered four wins in less than two years, with two coming by knockout. While Pazmino has impressed fans with his blend of speed and power, he admits that he was not at his best through some of those bouts. "To be honest, some of my performances were impacted by a shoulder injury I've had for a while," explained Pazmino. "I've had two surgeries to fix it, and I finally feel like myself again."
Pazmino will need to be in top condition to defeat Tirrell, a 40 year-old Brit who fought lost to Michael Osumah at middleweight last November in Denver. The Hertfordshire native turned pro in 2013 and won his first ten bouts before suffering his first defeat. Moving down to welterweight for this opportunity, Tirrell enters the fight on Saturday night with a chance to hand Pazmino his first defeat at the same 10-0 mark that Tirrell once held.
But can Tirrell turn Pazmino's dream into a nightmare? "He's a tough fighter with a good record, but I'm laser-focused on this fight," says Pazmino, who sparred with CES stablemate 'Speedy' Rashidi Ellis to prepare for this bout. "This is the fight where I put it all together - I want to show my ring smarts and my power, leaving no doubt that I'm the welterweight prospect to watch in New England."
