World class light heavyweight contender Paul "The Hurricane" Briggs is on the verge of inking a promotional deal with Don King Productions. Briggs is the mandatory challenger to light heavyweight king Antonio Tarver. Both Tarver and Briggs have received bout agreements to fight in Dubai on Jan. 1. Tarver-Briggs is far from done though, and Tarver hasn't made up his mind regarding which direction his next fight is headed. Evidently, DKP isn't convinced that Tarver will take the fight as they've already sent a second contract to Paul Briggs to fight the next available contender. "Don is looking out for Paul Briggs welfare and if Tarver doesn't do the right thing we already have another contract with an offer we can't refuse to fight the next available contender in the WBC rankings," said a source from Team Briggs.
