Pakistan's Muhammad Waseem to face ex-titlist Ganigan Lopez

Pakistan's Muhammad Waseem has received the support of another Pakistan sports legend Wasim Akram ahead of his return to the ring on Friday’s Rotunda Rumble2 card at Caesars Bluewater in Dubai. Waseem (9-1, 7 KOs) goes up against [faded] former 108-pound title holder Ganigan Lopez (36-10). The event will be broadcast live in the US on ESPN+ and worldwide on IFL TV. Waseem's only loss came in a 2018 flyweight title bid vs. Moruti Mthlane look, but now he is looking to build on the momentum he secured in September when he knocked out Conrado Tanamor in 62 seconds. He now turns his attention to Lopez.
 
Cricket superstar Akram has heaped praise on his countryman Waseem. Akram said: “Muhammad Waseem won his last fight in 62 seconds and I’m looking forward to seeing him hopefully win his upcoming fight. He’s fighting with a former world champion and I’m really proud of him. I believe he’ll win this fight too and go onto be a successful champion.”
