On Telefutura's Solo Boxeo broadcast on Friday, the repsected announcing team discussed the success of Julio Cesar Chavez's win last week over Ivan Robinson and said it was quite possible Chavez would stage another "farewell" bout, this time in Arizona against Jorge "Maromero" Paez, the former featherweight champion who is reported to have difficulties passing the medical examsrequired of all boxers. Still, Paez remains a popular performer even though its been fifteen yeears since he held a world title, there is little doubt a Chavez-Paez fight would be of great interest to Mexican fans. How ancient is Paez? The 40-year old won the IBF featherweight title in 1988 against Calvin Grove in a fifteen rounder. But he hasn't fought since late 2003. -Scott Shaffer
