Press Release: Jorge Paez Jr. and Shawn Hawk--two undefeated young prospects promoted by Sycuan Ringside Promotions--fight Friday, March 16, 2007 in Hollywood, Fla., on the nationally televised “Tribal Pride 2” card featuring Celestino Caballero defending his WBA super bantamweight championship against Ricardo Castillo. The card, co-promoted with Seminole Warriors Boxing Promotions, will be televised live on Univision’s “Solo Boxeo” series. Paez, 13-0 with 8 KOs, meets Ramon Guevara, 7-11 with 5 KOs in a six-round lightweight fight. Hawk, 13-0 with 11 knockouts, faces Ed Perry, 10-4-1 with 6 KOs, in an eight-round cruiserweight bout. The main event features Caballero, a 5-foot-11-inch southpaw. He has a record of 25-2 and 18 KOs. The 30-year-old from Panama, won the WBA super bantamweight championship by unanimous decision over Yober Ortega in 2005 and then defended successfully twice in 2006, stopping Roberto Bonilla and then destroying highly regarded Somsak Sithchatchawal. Caballero earned his title shot with a one-sided decision over current WBO champion Daniel Ponce De Leon Feb. 17, 2005. Castillo, the brother of former two-time WBC lightweight champion Jose Luis Castillo, has a record of 27-3 and 17 KOs and has won 16 of his last 17 dating back to 2003.
