Undefeated junior welterweight Carlos Utria (14-0, 11 KOs) and middleweight Marco Romero (14-0, 12 KOs) have signed with Premier Boxing Champions. Information regarding Utria's and Romero's PBC debuts will be announced at a later date.

 

The 22 year-old Utria won the WBC Boxing Grand Prix in December with a unanimous decision over Mujimillo Tursunov. Utria has been trained by his father, Lenyn Utria, since turning professional in 2023.

 

"For me it is a great honor to sign with PBC, because it shows that I'm doing things right," said Utria. "I know that I will not disappoint. This is going to be a new era of Colombian boxing, with myself and a lot of great prospects on the rise. I'm going to continue to work hard with this same mentality and continue to chase my dreams going forward."

 

The 20 year-old Romero, of Overland Park, Kansas, won 23 national amateur titles, including the 2024 National Golden Gloves championship, where he was named Outstanding Boxer of the Tournament. He turned professional in 2024. Romero went 3-0 in 2026, opening the year with a sixth-round stoppage of Vaught Alexander before earning an eight-round unanimous decision over William Langston. He most recently stopped Andre Sherard in the first round in May.
