WBA junior welterweight champion Jose “Rayo” Valenzuela will defend against Gary Antuanne Russell on March 1st in Brooklyn, New York's Barclay Center. Valenzuela-Russell will serve as the chief supporting bout for Gervonta "Tank" Davis' WBA lighweight title defense against junior lightweight titlist Lamont Roach. A second junior welterweight title fight will be part of that night's show, as WBC champion Alberto Puello defends his title against mandatory challenger Sandor Martin. Kicking off the pay-per-view broadcast at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, will be Yoenis Tellez against former two-belt junior middkeweight champion Julian “J-Rock” Williams. The winner of Tellez-Williams will be recognized as the WBA interim champion at junior middleweight.
