GL: You issued a press release yesterday saying you want to fight Sugar Shane Mosley at 147 pounds. Your last fight took place at middleweight and now you're ready to move down to 147 pounds, why is that? "It's about fighting against the best in the industry. It looks like everyone has a fight lined up on their schedule and I haven't fought yet this year. The fight I really want is Cory Spinks because he beat the guy that beat me and I know he wants to fight me and he can sell tickets in St. Louis. But at the same time the promoters aren't making it happen so I think fighting Mosley would be a good thing. He's with Golden Boy and I'm with them as well so I think it would be easy to make that happen. Mad respect to Mosley for his last fight, he looked good against Collazo and I'm in boxing to fight the best. "
GL: Do you think Shane Mosley would want to fight you?
Kassim Ouma: "He's a legend and he looked great in his last fight so why wouldn't he want to fight me? I hope he comes to the table with something. Golden Boy and Peltz cannot make a deal with Spinks promoter Don King. Props to Spinks for being a world champion ready to make it happen, but if we can make a fight with Mosley easier, I'm going to move down to welterweight to fight Shane Mosley."
GL: How does a fight between you and Shane Mosley play out?
KO: "It would be a great fight because he's fought almost everyone out there. Me, I bring something to the table and the fans know I come to make it happen so I think it would be a great fight."
GL: Do you think you'll be strong as a welterweight?
KO: "I think I can still be strong at 147. I can be stronger than him at 147, but let's make the fight and see what happens. Tell Shane your boy is calling him out and he's ready to fight him."
GL: Shane is expecting to fight in June, can you be ready to fight at welterweight by then?
KO: "I can be ready to fight him tomorrow. I can definitely make the weight in time to fight him in June."
GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?
KO: "I want to thank all of my fans for showing me love. Dream On Worldwide. Shane Mosley step up to the plate and let's give the fans the biggest fight you can make at welterweight. I'm showing the world what a real fighter is. I fought the middleweight champion in his hometown, I'm ready to fight Spinks is his hometown and I'm ready to make 147 for the first time in three months if Shane Mosley wants to step up."
