The news out of San Antonio concerning Oscar Diaz is not good. The San Antonio Express-News reports that Diaz was experiencing swelling of the brain, and had to undergo surgery to open up his skull in order to accomodate the swelling. Local television station WOAI reports that Diaz also has a severe brain bleed. Diaz is listed in critical condition. After ten rounds of welterweight fighting last night, Diaz's leg buckled and his body went limp while he held his head and yelled in pain. The referee immediately stopped the fight and physicians quickly administered oxygen to Diaz.
